It is with the greatest pleasure and pride that CSG announces to its membership that in the New Years Honours list, our Executive Officer, Avril Enslow, has been awarded a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to gymnastics. Read the whole story.

Queen's Birthday Competition
This was a very busy competition with 379 entries. The club was well served by the many volunteers that came out and assisted in many ways. CSG gymnasts did very well: 1st Team in Level 2,3 over & under, 4 over (2nd team 4 under), 5,6,7,9, and MAG team placings were 1st and 2nd team in level 2 and 2nd team in level 3 Well done gymnasts and coaches ! NZ Trials
Our team of 6 gymnasts and 1 coach and judge attended the NZ Levels Team trials at the weekend on the Kapiti Coast. We are very proud to report that the trip was very successful.

The criteria for selection were first 4 in each level. So it seems that we have 3 new NewZealand representatives – Kathryn, Karla and Aleisha, and Samantha Russell and Sarah Skelton for the 2nd year running. Well done to the girls and their coaches !

May, Quiz Night
May, Quiz Night was a great success, with an excellent crowd, and everyone had lots of laughs, good food, good drinks and great company.
Term 2
Term 2 will be a very busy term. It seems all of our classes are full with waiting lists starting to grow. We have 777 visits with the schools programme this week and the following schools will be coming: WaimaririSchool, Freeville Primary, Mt Pleasant Primary, Kura Kaupapa Maori, Nova Montessori, Elmwood School, Selwyn House and a Home School group. Alongside this we have the Mt Hutt Ski Team and NZ Women’s Indoor Cricket Team. There are also 1091 club members who come every week plus casuals with our adult classes. All in all it makes a very busy well used venue.
The EUROTRAMP has landed

Trialing in Wellington for the NZ Team, to compete in Australia

Our cheerteam is due to perform at the Flames game
April 25, Our cheerteam is due to perform at the Flames game at the Westpac Stadium. They are looking great especially with their swish red skirts. The team went through their paces at the gym, and we were all very impressed, well done Ioana and the team.

April, Hawaii– Pacific Alliance
The NZ girl’s team did great. They scored a team score of 102.79 and beat Japan. We were 6th behind the USA,Australia,China,Canada,Mexico. Alethea was the top gymnast on 34.4. Full results at the front desk. Alethea was in vault finals and Nikki was in beam and floor. Top score of the meet from NZ was 9.2 for Alethea’s handspring front pike half turn. It is many, many years since a NZ gymnast has scored over a 9 in a Senior international competition.
