Michele Hawke BSc, PhD
As a geologist Michele was involved in the exploration, construction and development of Kelian, Indonesia’s biggest gold mine. During that time she was involved in staff training and gained skills in project/ business and personnel management. She currently works as geological consultant and human resources management for a transport company.
Michele has been on a school Board of Trustees as a member and Chairperson which gives her a background on policy and legal issues relating to managing business and organisations.
Michele has over 42 years experience in gymnastics as a competitor, judge, coach and technical official. As a breveted judge she has represented New Zealand on several occasions.
Michele wishes to see CSG continue to be an efficiently run club that remains at the forefront of development and delivery of Gymsports programmes in New Zealand while remembering what the club is there for - the participants.
Michele is a Level 3 coach, and first received her international judging licence (Brevet) in 1980 when she was ranked no 1 in New Zealand.
Previously a member of GSNZ Women’s Technical Committee, and Chair of the local Women’s Technical Committee.
Michele successfully managed the NZ International Levels Challenge Team to Perth in September 2006.
Currently Vice President of the club, and Chairman of the Board.
Received her Meritorious Award from GSNZ at National Championships 2007, for outstanding service over 41 years.
